As education is our primary focus at the Marsh Home, we are giving top priority to this very special project.

It has been decided by our Board of Directors that what will work best for this special project will be to have both an "Introduction to Computers" class for those children who have never used computers; and "Advanced Computer Classes" for the older children who have already taken computer classes and are more familiar with how to use computers.

We hope to find a donor who would like to a make a very special contribution to our children's education. We are currently soliciting financial donations to pay for a monthly salary for our new computer teacher for the children's education.

We need to re-install our infirmary in the event of an emergency that we had to convert it into a living quarter for 4 more children that Mama Jovita could not refuse.

We are currently soliciting a donations of medical supplies (bandaids, gauze, medical tape, bandages, Q-Tips®, alcohol, digital thermometers, aspirin, Children's Tylenol®, cough syrup, etc.). The donation of a blood pressure monitor and glucose tester; an examination table and chair; and a scale so that we can monitor and document the height and weight of the children would also be invaluable.

We're also looking for used hospital equipment such as a stainless steel examination table; basic emergency room items such as band-aids, alcohol, tape, gauze & bandages, a supply of basic drugs like aspirin, anti-biotics, cold & flu medicines, and any other items you might find in an emergency room. Perhaps you're a nurse or doctor that works at a hospital that has some older equipment that is not being used and can be donated.

If you are unable to make actual donations, you can still help the kids at the Marsh Home. If you are a professional doctor or nurse, or perhaps an EMT, you could compile a list of medical equipment, medical instruments, prescription drugs and necessary items for an potential medical emergency. Perhaps such life saving drugs that counteract the effects of a possible food allergy.  Plus, any medications and / or anti-venom treatments for children who may be allergic to bee stings or a potential sting from a scorpion. We would like to have these items "on-hand" and ready for any possible emergency.

We are currently seeking Financial Donations or a Special Sponsor to enlarge our library at the Marsh Home. Donations of Children's books, educational books and a Set of Encyclopedias (in Spanish) would be a great way to help the Kids.

Achievement is one of the 4 Principles at the Marsh Children's Home. We place great emphasis on education. All of the Children are required to attend school. After school, the Children also perform various chores around the Marsh Home. This allows us to teach the Children invaluable skills for entering their adult life. Social-skills, personal hygiene, eating a balanced diet and excercising are all taught at a young age so that they become habitual, life-long skill sets.

We also think it is vital to instill the concept of learning as a core belief. We encourage the Children to continue their education in the evenings, after they have finished their homework. This is why we wish to increase the number of educational books in our library.

If you are able, please send us history books, books about culture, social studies, art and music — any subjects you can think of that will enrich the lives of these amazing Children.

Emphasis on education at the Marsh Home includes introducing the Children to a second language. The fact that English is an internationally recognized language, and because of Mexico's proximity to the United States, we encourage the Children to learn English at an early age.

To complement our computer room / theatre, and as an entertaining way to teach the Kids about the world around them, we humbly ask you for Donations of Educational DVD's. Popular titles from The Discovery Channel®, The History Channel® and SciFi Channel® would be Greatly Appreciated.

Additionally, we would Love to have some Disney® and Pixar® Movie Collections on DVD for the Children to enjoy on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, as a way to reward them for completing their homework and their daily chores.
